What is Kidney Stones?
Kidney stones are hard structures formed when minerals and salts in the urine crystallise and join together; they are among the most common urinary stones. When a stone moves from the kidney into the ureter (the tube carrying urine between kidney and bladder), sudden severe flank pain (renal colic), nausea, vomiting and blood in the urine may occur.
How is it approached?
In Op. Dr. Erol Uçaner's consultation, your history, physical examination and any necessary laboratory tests or imaging are reviewed together. Assessment for Kidney Stones is planned according to how long symptoms have lasted, accompanying findings and any previous tests.
Treatment plan
Whether monitoring, medication or surgery is discussed depends on the individual. Expected benefits, possible risks and non-surgical alternatives are covered in the same consultation. The suitable plan is clarified in person with Op. Dr. Erol Uçaner.
