Op. Dr. Erol UÇANER Urologist

Testicular Cancer

What is Testicular Cancer?

Testicular cancer is a malignant tumour from uncontrolled growth of testicular tissue cells and mainly affects younger men, often aged 20–40. The most common finding is a painless swelling, hardness, heaviness or palpable mass in the testis. Diagnosis uses examination, scrotal ultrasound and serum markers such as AFP, beta-hCG and LDH; normal markers alone do not rule out disease. Treatment is planned after urological assessment according to seminoma or non-seminoma type, pathology and stage, and may include surgery followed by active surveillance, chemotherapy or selected radiotherapy. Early diagnosis and accurate staging are critical.
